Meet kin + me, an electronic duo from the San Francisco Bay Area formed by Eric Wu and Eric Okuma. They blend Wu's classical training in piano and violin with Okuma’s expertise in keyboard and guitar, creating a sound that fuses electronica, house, future bass, alternative rock, indie, and jazz. Their music offers an ethereal and uplifting experience, often incorporating organic instruments for distinctive melodies, textures, and atmospheres.
The duo draws inspiration from a wide range of artists, including ODESZA, Flume, GRiZ, Tourist, RÜFÜS DU SOL, and nimino. These influences are evident in their genre-crossing creativity, producing tracks that are emotionally resonant and sonically adventurous. Wu and Okuma first crossed paths in college but officially formed kin + me after the pandemic in 2023.
Both artists have gained attention for their solo projects—Wu with Good Gatsby and Okuma through his mashups as AKiRA. Together, they’ve achieved recognition by winning Phantom’s Perpetual Motion remix competition and were a top 5 finalist in Rinzen’s Deja Vu remix competition.
Currently, kin + me has released three singles and is preparing for an exciting lineup of future releases, including new singles, collaborations with emerging talents, remixes, and an album.
